A billion dollars can't make you content....but a way of thinking can.

Does it bother you to think that whatever you[1] would earn in your lifetime is minted by hundereds of others[2] in a year. Or whatever you dare not even wish (oh yes, you do not) is made in just one day by many others[3]?

I am afraid you might find the thought a bit depressing. Do not.

Think about it.

What does make the difference? I won't plunge into the rhetoric of Ambition, Passion, Dream, Sweat or whatever, i leave that crap to Robert Kiyosaki, Shiv Khera, Deepak Chopra et al. who are good at nursing these "shots of steroid"[4].

I do think i know the difference[5], but here i am interested in the bigger picture.

All i care is that i was not born destined to be an engineer in a status oriented society of racing-rats. We are born humans[6], who would fulfill their needs[7], desires[8] and use their share of resources and must die.

It is the (mis)understanding of our desires that makes us restless. We are not sure of what counts and to what extent. Would a private jet or a business class ticket or an economy class ticket do? And to travel where -- Las Vegas, Bali or Massi-Da-Pind. Stay where -- Suite in a seven, five, three star hotel, or a self-checkin hotel?

The point is, there are many ways to do something. We can not beat[9] everyone (not our ego for sure) by going a different/better way. The billionares go for the most expensive options and thousandares, like me, go for cheapest options. Who enjoys[10] more, or is happier, is not yet answered!

Even if i can not earn more than Gates(read wealth), even if i can not execute kings like Bush does(read power) and even if i can not taste exotic cuisines and keep keeps like some Sultans do(read luxury), i have no reason to enjoy my life any way lesser! (conditions apply[11])

I remember reading somewhere "I may not own the world but i don't give a damn to who does"

Now get back to the rat-race, just remember to enjoy it and not complain if u "lose" it.

[1] -> Engineer/Doctor in better cases.
[2] -> CXOs of Colas, Banks and Abcsofts and many politician.
[3] -> Gates, Buffet, Rothschilds, Ambanis, Mittals.
[4] -> You heard me. More on that next time.
[5] -> So you are interested!
[6] -> An intelligent animal, to be precise.
[7] -> Food, Sex and Shelter.
[8] -> Taste, Lust and Luxury.
[9] -> I say why at all?
[10] -> definition of joy is relative and subjective.
[11] -> Those who matter most to me must also share my viewpoint.

New Newton

I saw a documentary about Sir Issac Newton. And i am going to share some latest (updated) knowledge about Newton in this post.

An APPLE is perhaps the first thing that comes to ones mind when talking about Newton . Much to my astonishment, many scientists - in that documentary - deny the story that a falling apple led to the discovery of gravity. So from now on i am going to deny it too.

We know Newton mostly for his contributions to Physics and Mathematics, but very few people do really know that he had written text about Theology more than that of Physics and Mathematics combined !!! Also, that he spent a considerable duration of his lifetime indulging in the, then forbidden, pseudoscience of Alchemy.

Among many other lesser known, 'The Laws Of Motion' , 'Elliptical Orbits of Celestial Bodies' and 'Composition of White light' are the most famous of his discoveries. 'Principia Of Nature' and 'Optiks' were his masterpieces.

It is said that John Lock, a freind of Newton, wrote a political philosophy - which we now call Modern Democracy - taking inspiration from Newtons discoveries about natural hierarchy.

Reflection:-
Results of todays cutting-edge research are going to be the general knowledge of tomorrow. How trivial do the statements, like 'Earth revolves around the Sun', sound today and how outrageous(infact blasphemious) did they sound before the times of Newton and Galeileo !
How amiss the beliefs(read faith in Alchemy) of the smartest people(read Newton) can be !
No, i've got no new point to make. I suggest only a way of thinking to try out.

Take care.

Jee Aya Nu

For those who didn't understand the title-- 'Jee Aya Nu' in Punjabi language, my mother tongue, means 'Welcome'.

I would start with a confession.
It took me almost half an hour to just decide upon the name of my blog (yes many of us do take it so seriously, nevertheless we are not supposed to confess that!).

I would be using this platform to "vent off" my philosophies(maybe wrong), opinions(maybe boring) and ideas(maybe half-baked).
You observed right, i am a person of double quotes and brackets. I always try to be as much expressive as possible. Of course, effective useage of vocabulary can accomplish that but i do not like writing editorials(i hear you....yes, you can say that).

All the double quotes and brackets are gonna become clear as i write more -- at least that is how i want it to be.
